The narrow strip of land on the east side of the railway from Chorlton
Junction through to Throstle Nest was intended for quadrupling the railway
tracks. Consequently only building of a temporary nature was permitted.
The billboard advertises 'The Whips' which was probably a concert party
for the week commencing Monday 20th June, 1910. This is Chorlton Pavilion
and Winter Gardens.
