Re: Chorlton Meadows Football Pitch Plan

And if it wasn't expensive, then it's a damn shame all these people who want it 'saved' didn't do something about it before the sale went through! woah there 'dave'... the previous owners weren't exactly angels either, and the people who want it 'saved' now wanted it 'saved' 19 years ago http://fri...

Re: Chorlton Meadows Football Pitch Plan

Top of page 3. no thats a rough sketch done based on the ownership of the land. This was a point that people at the consultation were trying to hammer out - what land did he actually own and he was not very forthcoming but he seemed to suggest right up to the mersey... this terrible pic of a plan o...

Re: Chorlton Meadows Football Pitch Plan

Anyway, for the benefit of fiz and digger and others who see no problem with this because they don't use the area anyway, i thought i'd put up a few photos of the area jsut to give you an idea of the place described as 'derelict' in the local press: http://img174.imageshack.us/img174/1835/dsc0008l.j...

Re: Chorlton Meadows Football Pitch Plan

Toast I've got the perfect present for you to give Annie after her marmite comment. the marmite comment..... the marmite comment served only to wind me up further because if there is one thing that gets me, its people with such a paucity of inspiration that they have to resort to mimicking bloody a...

Re: Chorlton Meadows Football Pitch Plan

For what it's worth, toast, in the usual round of insults, I had misinterpreted you as being in support of it, and for that I apologise..... Can't think why fiz would prefer privately owned football pitches than wide open spaces.. i'll try to simplify things http://img196.imageshack.us/img196/9356/...

Re: Chorlton Meadows Football Pitch Plan

righty o, aren't football pitches and wide open spaces the same thing? floodlit or otherwise i don't see the big fuss unless you live right there which i don't and even then its not like they would be lit up at midnight. Not really - the football pitches are privately owned so will be fenced off, s...

Re: Chorlton Meadows Football Pitch Plan

quite so digger my thoughts exactly. but patroning people never grasp that they are. Fiz are you going to sit there with a petted lip affronted that someone had the audacity to use the word 'lass' in front of you and refuse to answer the question for ever? As you well know the word Lass was used be...

Re: Chorlton Meadows Football Pitch Plan

And yet you're still here. Feigning surprise that "utter knobs" "act the dick." Bit of an oxymoron that, isn't it? What else would you expect them to do? Every board has its share of knobs matey. If you don't want opinions, don't ask questions. Not everyone who disagrees with yo...

Re: Chorlton Meadows Football Pitch Plan

fine in that the patronisng "lad" or "lass" is used as well? - good on here isn't it  to be honest no, my feeling of this board is that its full of utter knobs who have been kept most of their lives locked in a cupboard under the stairs and never given the attention ...

Re: Chorlton Meadows Football Pitch Plan

People seem to be confusing privately owned, well maintained, membership paid for facilities for local authority pitches. The ones at Turn Moss are council owned and youngsters who play on them oput up with waterlogged, dog fouled sometimes dangerous pitches. It puts off young people and they give ...

Re: Chorlton Meadows Football Pitch Plan

I'm sure there are a heck of a lot, but it's not the quantity that's the issue, it's the quality. There's lots of poorly maintained, bumpy field pitches that suffer from water-logging, damage from horses and motorcycles, dog-fouling etc etc. My kids play on the them every week. What there IS a need...
