I know it's closed but...

Hi, Paula here, I've not been around for yonks so am sad that Chorlton web has closed. However, I am wondering if any of the old regulars remember me and would care to send me a private message. ( There is a reason for this). Whatever happens, my good wishes to the people of Chorlton. How I miss it!...

Re: Annoying disruption -metro link expansion

Mrs Digger misunderstands. The line is only single track because the trams only go one way, from Chorlton to Disdbury. They stay there, though there are plans to continue the line on towards the south. At this time nobody knows where to. At this stage the rolling stock will then be released.

Re: Street Names??

As Louise says, Corkland Rd used to be Cavendish Rd, but it carried on across St Weburghs Rd. So for many years there were 2 unconnected bits, separated by the "Chorlton High School" The bit behind the new Metro Station is now Caddington Rd.
How interesting is that!

POWER OF PRAYER

Could I ask the Christians amongst us to throw some light on prayer. May I ask all the non-believers reading this to refrain from commenting as I suspect it will simply swamp the discussion. My friend was quite ill a few days ago and, though not a practicing Christian I said the following prayer, si...

Re: Chorlton Tram

Hi Annie and Sarah, Not sure about WTF. Wait till Friday? All I was meaning was that if Annie sends 2 letters per week, then her 3800 letters would account for 38 years worth of answers. And let's face it, you do dish it out rather often, Annie. But hey ho, that's my two for this month. (Sorry tram ...

Re: Chorlton Tram

Hello Chorltonians I was thrilled to hear about the Metro station openning in St. Werburghs. Some of you may know that I used to live under that bridge in a tent. As I never get to Chorlton now I wonder if there are any photos of the station, maps etc? I wonder where the entrance is and which side o...

Re: Labour Signs on Wilbraham Road / Withington Road

I guess Dave's 4 inches (and that's probably an over-estimation :P ) proves my point. I'm not sure we have dial-up yet, Dave, but it is promised. Talking about new technology, I was given a mobile telephone for my birthday, but they don't work round here. Nice to carry around and hold it to my ear t...

Re: Labour Signs on Wilbraham Road / Withington Road

Good to see you back, big guy 8) 8) Why? Were you missing people who talk shite, create useless threads and attack women by private message? I was, yeah. As long as he sticks to his remit and isn't tempted to dip his toes into the shark infested waters of local or national politics everything shoul...

To Fat....
Suave has 1st refusal, but if he's fixed up, we could chat. I have a soft spot for the Royal Oak. I used to collect empty fag packets from the bins behind the pub ( hobby) and my Uncle died in the pub. ( before I was born).

Hello Folks, I've not looked at this web-page for yonks and then a friend told me my name was being mentioned. I send you greetings from the Lakes. I'm amazed that some of the old names, Louise from Alb any Rd, One-eyed Annie (meow) and PeteMS are still around. Just think, if you'd have spent all th...

Re: Punch & Judy

To Pete and John, No I dont live near Bouth. I live in Elterwater Village in the Greater Langdale Valley and work at the local timeshare hotel. Yes, I saw my father 6 months ago but Devon is a long way away. I can tell you that he is still with Petal and she is part of the act. I am sure this is not...
