Pub Quiz hosts urgently required in South Manchester

Hi all, I work for a company called Question One, who are a pub quiz provider. I'm looking for people to host quizzes in South Manchester and Trafford- I urgently need someone to host in Altrincham on Wednesday nights. A lot of our hosts come from acting and comedy backgrounds. We provide the quiz a...

Re: Closing down... opening up

this demand for a return to traditional shops like greengrocers, butchers and bakers is based on a belief in a romanticised golden age. off the top of my head there are two greengrocers in the precinct, and eisa's down manchester road is largely a greengrocers. there's at least on butchers on wilbr...

As for the so called evil cafe bar taking over I'm not so sure, however I can imagine the increase in late night licensed eateries around the bus stop being a pain if you actually live there, however what would be best - thriving bars/restaurants or empty units??

Shops.

Re: Closing down... opening up

There is a planning application to turn the empty bookies across the road from there into a pizza place. Just what we need...... Sounds good. When I moved to Chorlton in mid-1990s, most of that row was empty and all of it was really scruffy. Just TV repair, bike shop, launderette, bookies and Charc...

Re: Closing down... opening up

I always remember the H&J as the local under-age pub, but there you go... Onto other matters I see the plumbing/DIY shop next to the bus stop Co-Op is having a clearance sale. Is there really no future for any shop other than a cafe bar to thrive in Chorlton? Have you been in that shop? It's ru...

Lost cat near bus station

My lovely cat Jessie has gone missing. I live on Malton Avenue, behind the bus station. She is black with white whiskers, a white belly and big white feet (She is polydactyl so has 7 and 8 fingers on her front paws). She is quite small She doesn't usually wander off although she sometimes hangs arou...

Re: book/record store for old tattoo parlor

He is the same chap who has the stall outside the post office. He was doing well so wanted to expand and have somewhere indoors- I popped in for a chat with him when he opened. It's quite different to the stuff for sale on Beech Road, that shop seems to sell lots of over priced modern wooden boxes w...

Re: Arian

We went in last night and I'm pleased to say it was a little bit busier, but the good news is that the owner's wife was there very proudly showing off the Tripadvisor certificate of excellence which they have just been awarded. For some reason they don't show up as a Chorlton restaurarnt on there bu...

Arian

I love Arian, the food is fantastic and way better than the other middle eastern type places in Chorlton (Including Turkish Delight, which I always think is a bit average and too expensive) (Is Iran middle eastern? I don't know!). The guy who runs it is really lovely. I think his business is struggl...

Re: Classic VW camper hire in Chorlton

Hello all, sorry for the spam but the camper van business is going great! I met a lot of people at the Chorlton Big Green Happening the other weekend which was really good fun. Bertha is just back from Anglesey with a couple from Sale and and has a couple of weeks available until the next booking. S...
