:)

Then perhaps we should keep the forum open for post General Election celebrations.

Re: Closure of Chorlton Web Discussion Forums

Sorry to see it go. Especially sorry to lose it as an archive of passing times. Thanks for hosting it though.

It would be a shame to lose the archive.

Re: GP recommendation please

Sorry to revive an old thread, but this national survey of doctors surgeries reported in the Evening News might be useful for anyone looking for a local GP. Don't know how reliable the methodology was, but this is how central Chorlton's GP's came out, ranked out of almost 8,000 surgeries in England...

Whilst there may be more than a faint hint of cider, I can't see anything whatsoever there to suggest racism. How is criticising people for not doing their job properly racist?

Re: Walking down High Lane

You can apparently also stop the junk that Royal Mail deliver by contacting the delivery office to add your name to a list - I haven't tried this yet though I have. It works, though you still get stuff from companies you deal with. It's called the Mail Preference Service. Be cautious of referring t...

Re: Markets?

It's a long time since I've been, but Longsight Market might be closest to what you're looking for (especially if you also want to buy a burqa ;-) )

Re: Crime!

We all have a vote don't we? Sadly the voting majority of Chorltonites choose to elect Labour councillors and Police Commissioner (and of course, previously, the loathsome Bradley). For those who didn't vote Labour, perhaps you might care to give your elected representatives hell about this. For tho...

Ah, good point. That would explain things.

I suppose if my life had sunk so low that I had to shop in the Co-op, I would have known that.

Re: I go out for 5 minutes and the Co-op gets robbed

The robbers "struck as a cash-in-transit van was delivering money to the store." Eh? I thought the way it worked was that shops sold things and generated cash, to be collected (not delivered). Is this a reflection on the Co-op' woeful trading position, or have the robbers just knocked off ...

Re: What has Gove been up to?

There's an interesting article in the Spectator written by someone who liked Michael Gove and his policies very much...until he met him. http://www.spectator.co.uk/features/9158241/the-disturbing-certainty-of-michael-gove/ Thanks for that link Stanley. It's a good article, though I think Horowitz's...
