Re: BIG Frank

Jon Ronson's a man of many talents but common sense clearly ain't one of them. No amount of Twittering's going to redeem this almighty turkey of an idea.

Re: Longford Hall

Interesting to see what the place looked like before it became a rather nice steppy garden. My daughter loves running around on the foundations. We live right next to the park but never saw the hall standing.

Re: Local characters

Is Authentic 60s Hippy Man his official name?

We call him The Timelord, because he seems to have just stepped out of a Tardis.

He even smells otherworldly, if you get close enough.

Re: Anyone lost a cat?

Could you please contact Gail (07867551396) or Christopher (07530327334), because they've lost a cat of this description (called Phoebe). Or send me your contact details to forward to them.

Thanks!

Re: German Cafe & Lebanese Restaurant near Leos/Escape

We seem to be talking about two different places. I had a very nice lamb shank at Hotspot the other night, though was slightly perplexed to be told that mashed potato was off the menu and I had to have fries instead! But it's family friendly, and good if you like unpretentious meaty fare.

Re: Anyone lost a cat?

There might be a missing cat poster on Longford Road with a cat of this description, but I only glanced at it. Will check and get back to you.

Cat needs home

My mum has just moved into residential care and we need a new home for her cat. She seems perfectly fit, and her injections are up to date. but is elderly, so cat charities won't take her. One charity even advised we have her put down, but we'd obviously hate to do that. She's medium-haired, black a...

Re: Good care homes or sheltered housing?

Thanks Louise. Social Services put me onto the regulatory body for care homes, who have a nice searchable database: http://caredirectory.cqc.org.uk/caredirectory/searchthecaredirectory.cfm But I had to ask the nice people at Wenlock Way. Chorlton Social have got some Victoria Wood character answerin...

Good care homes or sheltered housing?

Does anyone have relatives in care or sheltered housing in Chorlton or nearby? I'm looking for somewhere for my mum, who has Alzheimers. Would be good to hear any recommendations or warnings... I need to find somewhere pretty great because she hates the idea of living in care, or of moving from Surr...

Longford Park Cafe

Just twigged that plans are afoot to convert the building next to the play-park into a cafe. You can find the planning application below. Good news if it actually happens, but I wonder where the funds would come from? Permission was granted April but no evidence of work starting yet. http://planning...

Yes, I am indeed formally of Cosgrove Hall. Not sure how you knew that, but I guess a lot of arty Chorltonites are!

Re: Children's murals

Thanks, chaps.

I love graffiti when it's done well (BLU, Os Gemeos). I'll have to check that one out. The best I've seen in Chorlton is "hang all bankers" scrawled on a fence. And they say kids have no engagement with politics.

As a creative type in need of extra work, I thought I’d post photos of the mural I painted on my daughter’s bedroom wall, in case anyone fan...

Re: Lost/Found Tabby Cat

I assume you also posted this ad on Gumtree? http://www.gumtree.com/p/pets/tabby-cat-found/78493668 Have you taken it to the vets to see if it's been microchipped? Ashleigh Vets are very good, and you could put a 'found' sign up in their reception. http://www.any-uk-vet.co.uk/ashleigh-whaley-range/i...
