Re:

I dont think its fair to blame Emma Hattons for destroying chorlton. Try blaming Tony Blair for making a housing bubble (which will pop, by the way). If house prices run away from inflation and other markets cool (such as the stock market and indirectly pensions and savings), you quite naturally cr...

Re: Chorlton Trendies

Am i the only one on here who finds a sizeable proportion of Chorltonites totally pompous, smug, fake and annoying? . I used to go to the Bar because the beer is great and it's a decent place but i no longer go because the air kissers and phonies make an evening there less attractive than it used to ...

Re: The Mighty County

Anyway, something far more important than the inane ramblings and local gossip that usually permeate this board. One of your local football teams is on the verge of extinction after 125 years. We need your help. If you could manage to drag yourselves out this Saturday, (and I don't mean to either o...

Re: Looking for a 1 or 2 Bed Flat

I'm with Emma Hatton at the moment. They have been great, I would just like a nicer flat for the money. wouldnt we all! Emma Hatton overprice everything. It's also a fake name, so if you start with a lie, then .... Like I said SMFA seem to have a handle on it.. I'm glad we've got someone pretending...

Re: Caf 51 sandwich bar

Had some uber-Manc bore telling me the breakfasts in this place were 'amazing' in the pub the other day.

When I asked about the food he brought up the tat on the bucking walls - will give this one a miss.

Re: Electrik bar

A welcome addition.

Bit underwhelmed with how they've laid the place out, but it's the sort of sanitised environment women seem to like, and I kinda like women, so there's scope for a bit of synergy in there somewhere.

Better than revise anyway.

Re: akbar's in castlefield

i think asian fushion is great too so will see how akbars compares if we get in, going till next week so will see then. I wouldn't worry too much about getting in - can't see you having too much bother, and like ye say, there's plenty of pubs down that way. I'd recommend Cask (provided Utd haven't ...

Re: Freecycle

I've found this site to be much more useful for giving stuff away. I set up a separate email address for freecycle and if their worry is "clogging up inboxes" then I'm afraid they are failing. It's a never ending torrent of emails. Change your settings to 'digest' (I think) and you only g...

Re: fry up gaffs tried so far

Had a fry in Abode recently and it was bang on. Decent sausages, brought lovely extra toast without having a face on them and bar man was good craic. Big Cups aint bad either, though their seating arrangements are a bit clostrophobic. Next on my list is the Southern, though I'm off the drink for Jan...

I'm still waiting for the dog I backed in trap 3 in the 8:12 at Belle Vue on 14th September to finish the race, so this might be the one.

Re: The Feathers

Haven't been in for years but noticed it was open recently. Will call in shortly for a pint out of curiosity, although I don't like the transitional period after a pub reopens when most of the main reasons why it closed in the 1st place tend to crawl out of the woodwork. Will keep ya's posted when I...
