Re: The Beech or The Horse and Jockey

An interesting question .... The drinks are definitely better at the Beech. The Horse and Jockey is never a first choice for me to go to for a drink but I always know I'll be able to get a seat there. For a drink outside comparing the two then I'd again say the Beech - so yes the Beech. Has anyone b...

Re: The gentrification of Beech Road

Yes I agree I do think Beech Road is attracting more of the 'professional/Cheshire' crowd – definitely so in the Laundrette (which is why I try and avoid the Laundrette) and yes the row of bars and restaurants opposite the bus terminal are how I remember Beech Road of 10 years ago.

Wooden garden gate fitting - recommendations

I need to get a new wooden front garden gate and I'm looking for somebody who could buy one and hang it for me. I could go out and buy a gate myself but would still need somebody to hang it.

Could anybody recommend anybody who could do this job please.

Re: Best route to Charlotte Street

... why on earth would you want to drive in to MCR in the morning ? Charlotte street is pretty close to a Bus and a Tram stop and either would surely be easier ? Just curious If I can just put the environment to one side and only focus on journey times ..... The journey by car is quicker than by bu...

From Chorlton, the trams currently go to Victoria (and beyond) rather than Piccadilly

Thank you Pearl ... so for Piccadilly Gardens is St Peters Square the nearest stop without changing?

Thank you

Best route to Charlotte Street

At present the journey by car into the city centre is taking a lot longer than normal due to part of the Mancunian Way being closed. I was wondering if anybody drove into the city centre in the morning and what they thought was the best route? Also I think from 1st November Princess Street will be t...

Trams into the city centre

I am thinking of getting the tram into the city centre occasionally. In order to get a seat what time would I need to be on the tram by please? Before 8.15am? Also ignoring any waiting time how long does the journey take? 20 mins? How frequent is the tram these days please? Is it every 6 mins or 12 ...

Yes I'd stay but for that amount of money it would have to be detached.

Has anyone been to HOME?

Hello I was wondering if anyone had been to HOME and what they thought? I haven't been yet but intend to go soon. I'm still trying to work out where the entrance is? Where it is exactly? Anyone eaten there? Many places to eat there? Thank you P.S. I still prefer this site to the Facebook group. Let'...

Re: Outdoor play area for adults

Have you had a swim at Salford Quays at all? Salford Council offer a little bit of it as a kind of outdoor pool in the summer, and the water is reportedly like Evian. Nice and deep too. I am definitely going to try it when the weather heats up a little . . . No I haven't .... I'd be interested to h...

Re: Selling a house with a tenant question

I guess it's a shame the tenant doesn't want to buy the house, or maybe they haven't been asked? Buy-to-let has worked out badly for many and this has increased incidents of landlords treating their tenants shodilly. The tenant is approximately 3 months late with the rent he owes and is very unlike...
