Re: Painter/decorator needed

I know a guy that is pretty good and very resonable. What exactly is it you need doing.

Need boxes for packing up

Moving again, not leaving Chorlton though.

Anyone know any shops or supermarkets that are good giving away their unwanted boxes.

Re: BUS TO THE AIRPORT?

There is no public transport from Chorlton to the airport, it's mad. if you do a journey plan on the tfgm (used to be gmpte) site it directs you to Oxford road to pick up the airport trains, as previously mentioned. try and get a lift! Sometimes I even drive as a cheap parking deal can be cheaper t...

Mildly funny would be more accurate. But each to their own standards.

I see him quite a lot with his little boy in Beech Road park.

Re: Chorlton Tram

Parking charges at Morrisons are no more. Stay time is still restricted to 2 hours and vehicle registrations will still be photographed entering and leaving the car park. Any vehicle caught staying more than 2 hours (including overnighters) will still be charged the £80. Apparently a drop in busine...

Re: Urban Splash houses on Barlow Moor Road

I don't think negative equity is a problem in Chorlton. There has never been a major drop in house prices. They have been rising steadily since God was a boy. Thats not strictly true. Prices have come down in Chorlton since 2008, so if you bought in say 2007 or 2008 it is likely that you will be in...

Re: Road traffic accidents map

That is a very interesting map. Pretty sad and slightly upsetting as well. My analysis of the Chorlton area looks like the deaths are largely along the two main roads in Chorlton and involves one of three group. a, kids, b, OAPs or c, drunk people. :( Particularly sad was that one outside the Chorlt...

Re: Citybranch has sold the precinct

Oh for the good old days of Chorlton when it was a proper shopping centre. A music shop, a China shop , 3 shoe shops 5 womens wear, 4 menswear, a wool shop, a pet shop, a really good hardware shop, lingerie, fabric, electrical, paint and decorating, toys, records, a cobblers, quality furniture, a f...

Re: Citybranch has sold the precinct

Just a personal opinion like, and I've probably said it before, but if (say) the precinct was deleted from the entire space/time continuum I think that the world would be a slightly better place. I am with you on that one. Any of the decent retailers would hoover up vacant or underrented units in t...

Re: Urban Splash houses on Barlow Moor Road

wondered what that was all about. I quite like them actually, nice inside. Was once going to buy one, back when people used to buy properties that is, but it was out of my price range and I kept on renting instead. Glad I didnt now, what with negative equity and whatnot. Cash is king at the moment, ...

Re: Citybranch has sold the precinct

None of that precludes a healthy environment for independents at all - they might just need to be more profitable which isn't the worst thing. Quality Save, the charity shop and the Pound Bakery might struggle to keep going there, but they're not independents anyway - and their staff should be able...

Pull yourself together, whilst slightly ironically the demo crew pull the building apart.

So you are boycotting something at the Unicorn in favour of that at Tescos!

You really are not going to fit in around Chorlton!

Not so much, "Not In My Back Yard" as "Right In My Front Garden". Well, not mine personally but I do have friends in Anchorside Close although I havent spoken to them about this yet as I wasnt aware of the proposal. It is a quite little cul-de-sac of generally non-descript dwelli...
