Re: Closing down... opening up

Shame, in its day the Trevor was a great pub, particularly when the competition was so shite at the Beech and the jockey (4 years ago-ish) Regular crazies and a buzzy atmosphere. football night and a great quiz on mondays with an over amplified sound effects box. ahhhh memories.

Re: Dogs in Beech Road Park

i'm a little suspicious of knackered ripped bags higher up or deeper in to trees, those i suspect are chucked into folliage only to be revealed when leaves drop. but still, majority of dog owners pick up theirs 99% of the time. And when i suspect i have accidentally missed one of mine, i pick up ano...

Re: Dogs in Beech Road Park

i'm a dog owner and i occasionally place a bag by the side of the path and pick it up on my way back in. This is a rarity (very rare!) as my dogs normally shit near the start of the walk when we are still near bins. but out beyond the reach of the bins a bag hanging or placed on the side is normally...

Re: Double Iron gates - Drive

borrow an angle grinder off of someone and just have a go at cutting them off as close to the brick / stone as possible? Seriously, just have a go, see what happens. Failing having someone handy you know with an angle grinder, borrow a small hacksaw and just give it a go. its amazing what those tiny...

Re: Window Cleaner Recommendation?

Re: Closing down... opening up

Yes, we move away when we want to start a family. House prices mean unless you have probably £75,000 deposit you can't get a first family home in chorlton. When i lived in chorlton i was happy that there were so many bars and pubs. Then i moved away to get on the housing ladder and start a family so...

Re: Chorlton Library now a Listed Building

I thought listed buildings had quite a bit of protection from smashing the front off and replacing it with a large sign or sliding glass doors, for example. It might not protect the function but perhaps the look, making it less likely to be an express supermarket and more likely another weatherspoons!

Re: Just who are the litter chavs on Beech Road Park????

Annie - your nasty streak a mile wide when it comes to young people in hoodies is perhaps why some, and only some of those groups choose to disregard the things you like, parks, free music festivals. you reap what you sow. Labeling hoodies as criminals is myopic and offensive and shows a real lack o...

Re: So, how buggered am I?

I would also get as many letters from friends and family, work etc stating that you were not living at that address at the time and write to The Council stating you will contest this. They will not want / ill afford to pursue it and will probably roll over.

Re: Dogs in Pubs

But the Ees and waterparks are so close it might as well be a cheshire village! Dog walking is so close to the Beech and Jockey its not surprising so many choose to walk the dog and take it for a pint. My 2 dogs love the beech and the beech loves them. They don't jump around and don't sit on the sea...
