Yep ....as far as I was aware they were keeping the development and renting it out last I heard.

Re: THIS FORUM - Should it Continue?

I'd like to see the forum stay too but it's a pity not to see more posts. It's difficult to complain though as I'm probably as guilty as most for not contributing recently  Interesting looking at the stats though .....As I'm typing this it shows 10 users online, me and 9 guests in the last 5 m...

Re: Horse and Jockey

Went to the Jockey for lunch on New Year's Eve, very busy and queues to find tables. Food was pricey for what was just pub grub, as was the beer. I confirm that the ketchup was so vinegary, I asked for a replacement, which was the same (supplied in huge containers from Brake Bros). We were amazed a...

Re: Homeless Chorlton

I'm happier using my own judgement than someone elses statistics . Of course charities advise that you don't give direct because that would be like turkeys voting for Christmas. I'm not really that bothered what they spend it on either. Once I've given them a bit of money, it's theirs not mine and ...

Re: Homeless Chorlton

The 'most of them aren't actually homeless you know' argument seems to me to be a very convenient device to allow you to keep your hands in your pockets , guilt free. If someone was bang to rights like a couple of the examples above, I'd give them nothing, but I'd rather get it wrong a few times th...

Re: Homeless Chorlton

do not mix up the two This will come as a shock to people who hand money to beggars - but there seems to be a high chance that your cash is going to people who have homes. I used to do that until a few years ago, There used to be one that sat in the doorway of Quarmby's after it had close down. One...

Re: Closing down... opening up

There was certainly no bakers in the strip opposite the bus station in the mid-1990s. Although pre-war, that strip was Chorlton's main shopping area so it clearly had a time. There was a bakers, it was Smiths well know for it's cheese pies and rock cakes I'm not saying there was never a bakers, jus...
