Re: Posture Interiors BEWARE !!!!

What a shame, they do look like a nice place.

Complain directly to them on their Facebook and Twitter feeds. You should hopefully at least get an answer, and maybe some action.

Argh. I was stuck in it tonight, now I know I can curse it for the next 20 weeks.

Re: Getting to Trafford Park sans car

I've always found it very easy to get to Trafford Park from Chorlton. First off, you've considered walking, right? It's around three miles. Would take about an hour. Less than half that to cycle it, assuming you have access to a bike. If that's too far, could you walk up Manchester Road, onto Seymo...

Re: Getting to Trafford Park sans car

Depending on where you're going, you most likely will need to go up to the College of Music, cross the street and pick up the 291 or the 250 from there. If you go early, the 270 (I think? Maybe the 272, sorry I don't remember for sure) runs from near the Four Banks through Trafford Park. My sympathi...

Re: Booths - Chorlton

Ugh. No. Just no. Booths, I'm sure, is an excellent shop - at least from all I've heard about it. But don't put it at the precinct. Don't tear down what's already there to do it, either. That part of Chorlton has charm in its own scruffy way - and most importantly, it reflects the average person who...

If not Chorlton, then where?

Building on the worst things about Chorlton thread...

If you didn't live in Chorlton, where in Manchester would you choose (and why)?

Re: Opening Times

Louise, I was also being specific. You can compare retail and restaurants. Both are service industries. Both have, historically, unsociable hours. Both are services used when other people are not working. They're very similar, you can compare them. Besides, not being able to have a drink (or, in the...

Re: Opening Times

Louise, what about people who work, also for low wages, in other fields which don't shut? Should restaurants close except for 9 - 5 Monday through Friday?

Re: Opening Times

Sorry, but I don't see what is wrong in utilizing bank holidays for shopping. When I lived in Switzerland, shops closed early Saturday afternoon, not to open again until Monday morning. They didn't stay open late during the week. It was impossible to get anything done when working, unless you took a...

Re: MISSING!! grey tabby Chorlton/Whalley Range area

What a beautiful girl, I hope she finds her way home soon.

What part of Chorlton/Whalley Range?

I'm on the border, off Wilbraham Road and will be keeping an eye out for her.

Re: Bus prices and a suggestion

Annie and Sarah_b, that's my plan, if I can get affordable insurance (I've been driving for *cough* many years, but I passed my test in the US, so despite having a European licence when I moved here, I couldn't transfer it. I finally took my test last year, but insurance companies still charge me li...

Re: Bus prices and a suggestion

I'm not the bicycling type...but I have considered it. I just don't feel comfortable with being out on the roads on a bicycle here (a friend was killed last year riding her bicycle near a truck...). Just getting to the cemetery would mean lots of traffic on streets with a bicycle. :(

Re: Bus prices and a suggestion

Bus prices in Manchester are terribly high. I need to take two buses to get to work, from two different bus companies. This means I need to buy a SystemOne bus-only ticket - £68 for 28 days. Terrible service overall on the buses in Manchester, at over inflated prices. Where are you travelling to, i...
