Re: Portuguese

Yes we were there too. The suckling pig was great. Not able to pay on card yet but hopefully that's a minor glich soon to be fixed. Draught Portuguese lager was good! It's not cheap with the 'good' mains around £15 but the one of our party had the Tofu stew which was £11 (I think) and that looked gr...

Re: Typical monthly electricity bill?

.... is £37 per month for a three bed house a typical price to pay these days? It will depend on how many occupants and the amount of time spent there. I work from home and pay £70 per month on gas and electricity combined (not each). £32 of that is Electricity. I am on a fixed tariff from a couple...

Re: BT Infinity - fibre optic broadband - opinions? Any goo

7 years with TalkTalk and no real problems. I work from home and connect to the office via VPN. I think there have been 2 outages in the 7 years - neither of which lasted more than 12 hours. Telephoning customer service can be a bit hit and miss but overall it's very good value for money. If you pay...

Re: Wood Burner

I believe you'll need building regs whoever does it. One of my neighbours did it himself and then at the insistence of the buyer's solicitor had to get building regs sign off when he was selling.

Re: Anyone good with land values in Chorlton?

Doesn't your monthly service charge include a percentage that goes in to a sinking fund? I'd have thought the funds needed to replace the roofs would come from this. I see the roofs are flat. It's recommended that flat roofs are replaced every X years - depending on construction it could be every 20...

I thought 6 inches was the standard. The garden at the back drops down a bit so the patio is thicker there than the drive at the front and side

Re: Anyone recommend a paving/driveway company?

..the reason I like the look of the imprinted concrete is because I thought it would eliminate the weeds growing through the cracks problem It certainly does. There is between 6 and 8 inches of concrete on my drive/patio on top of a thick hard core layer. The only place the odd 'weed' might come th...
