Re: No Tesco here!

But I don't like some of the commercial decisions supermarkets are making. I think they're being quite dumb and just trying their hardest to shift boxes, rather than think cleverly about how they could make a more positive impact in the communities they're based in. In short, I think supermarkets t...

Re: Patronising....

To most of you, if I have caused any direct or indirect offence, I sincerely apologise. If I really am not fitting in with the majority of you around here, I'll slowly slope off again and leave you all to it. Don't even think about apologising! For what? And please don't allow any of the resident b...

"People" would be stretching it - "bullies" more like... I don't accept for a moment that you are being bullied at all. You would say that, wouldn't you - very convenient! And no, this isn't about me and I'm not complaining - it's merely that I thought for a few days now how lon...

Anti-Tesco greenie nobheads turn my stomach. Hypocritical fools. Supposedly the kind of people who support democracy, but quick to decided what's good for the rest of us. Unicorn... Friends of the Earth. Wankers. Is there anything or anybody on this planet NOT telling you what to do, you poor, poor...

Re: The Only Jam You'll See Is On Your Morning Toast...

We've built a little corner of our cabin here at Chorlton Web especially for patronising, self-important know-it-alls. It has peanuts and twiglets. link There is no 'we'. Just 'you'. Not really yoss.... people were queuing up to tell Winnie to get a life. "People" would be stretching it -...

Re: Citybranch has sold the precinct

For example, I'd love to go clothes shopping locally, but as a 33-year old male, my choices are rather *cough* limited *cough*, so have to go into the city centre to do so. if HT Burt had take a look out of Oi Polloi's book they would be still open, amount of dapper Chorlton blokes who have to shop...

Re: Citybranch has sold the precinct

The whole place reeks of pov! Whilst I might not use the same wording, I have to agree that I haven't seen the bustling centre of Chorlton represented there myself. Off the top of my head; there is the Cost Cutter (I may have made that name up but I mean the bargain basement Woolies), a cri...

Re: Road traffic accidents map

I note that in M21 we seem to have had relatively few fatalities. Those recorded seem to mostly involve cars and pedestrians, with only one bike fatality that I can see. Thanks! How refreshing to see things in perspective for a change, particularly after all the recent distortion and emotional reas...

Very smart move on behalf of the Indian government! I only wonder how long it's going to take until big business wheedles it's way into the legislation with the help of some substantial cheques being handed over under the table. Tesco et al 'miraculously' succeeded to get their way in this country, ...

Re: I want to kill all "sidewalk cyclists"

I feel similarly enraged by cyclists abusing pedestrian areas I was crossing Oswald Rd once with the pram and a woman cyclist cycled into it. Yes, yes - lets lynch all cyclists and be done with it! Good grief, have you guys read anything that's been discussed on this thread? What's the point if not...

Since he got hitched to Konnie Huq, he's gone off the boil. You hardly seen Screenwipe any more, and he's started doing mainstream entertainment. Very sad. By the looks of it Brooker's not just been busy with Konnie Huq, but has written a mini series for Channel 4. Newsnight Review were very comple...

In the end Peel Holdings won. And make no mistake, this was a win for corporate propaganda, and nothing else: I've watched a lot of political campaigns and referendums from the sidelines over the years and I've never seen anything quite so dirty and as under-handed as the misinformation Peel Holdin...
