Re: inside the old Oxford Rd BBC building

Thanks for sharing the pics.

Weird to think it isn't there any more. I went there a couple of times to be interviewed on the radio there, but I haven't seen most of it. Shame you didn't stumble on any daleks to take home ;-)

So who else on Chorltonweb likes listening to the BBC Proms?

Just started listening to the First Night of the Proms on BBC TV. Really looking forward to another great Prom season :D For those who like the Proms, and want an easy way to add them to their calendar, you might like to add the Proms Google calender that I created to your online/other calendar app ...

Re: Chorltonforum.co.uk

Good luck to it. Might be good to have a forum with an admin who makes a bit of an effort for a change. I agree there are probably too many sections though. For people like me who only check in now and again it's a pain to open them all up in order to scan through what is probably going to be just ...

Re: Chorltonforum.co.uk

It has been thoughtfully set up with lots of sections that people might actually find useful. Best of luck, Mary. As a personal view, I don't think there's really enough people in a place the size of Chorlton that are interested enough in using a purely local forum to make full use of all those sec...

Re: Chorltonforum.co.uk

So I take then, from what you're saying, that it'll be a place where argument is nipped in the bud, and mainly offers uncritical business promotions? Good luck with that.... Argument nipped in the bud?! Uncritical?! Not at all. Your response is a typical example of the way that *some* people ...

Re: Chorltonforum.co.uk

This bulletin board has a unique style.... Lots of banter and fairly unstructured. This suits some people, but not others. ChorltonForum, on the other hand, provides a place for those who like a bit more structure and perhaps a few less arguments ;-) <--- [edit: and like functioning smilies LOL] In ...

Do you recognise this car?

Anyone recognise this silver mini?

Used to be seen around Chorlton - anyone know the owner, or where it is now?

Thanks for sharing Louise. If anyone is interested, there is a talk coming up on this topic: The History of Longford Park Remember Stretford pageant and the May Queen leading the procession in her Landau? the art deco café with seating on the roof and a view of rose gardens? The open air school? Lon...

Yes I agree Annie - it can be a bit noisy in there.

But like you say, interesting food.

Sher Akbar is certainly my curry house of choice these days.

Re: Chorlton Businesses List?

THIS Annie is perfectly happy for her music to be plugged! I'm a musician and actress and a member of Chorlton Players (hence the user name). Bearing in mind that most people here seem to write using some kind of pseudonym or catchphrase, I'm assuming most want their privacy respected. Yes, fair co...

Re: Chorlton Businesses List?

Hi Mary, Honestly I think "Most people on here like to guard their privacy. Please respect that" is probably enough to be going on with. I'm sure it's fine to share pubic information on here, probably not as fine to try and connect that information with forum members. Thanks Yoss. Mary x
