Re: Estate Agents Chorlton - Experiences

Although I've lived in Chorlton 20 years I've only moved house twice so not a great deal of experience. However, once I was buying a house and Emma Hatton were the agents and at the time were bordering on uninterested (property market was very buoyant) and myself and the vendor ended up just talking...

The gentrification of Beech Road

Myself and a few friends are at odds on whether Beech Rd is attracting a different crowd to say 10'years ago. I think it is (more 'professional' or 'Cheshire' for want of a better description) and they say not (it's always been like that). To me the row of bars and restaurants opposite the bus termi...

Re: Closing down... opening up

Food wasn't great when I was there either, but that was before Christmas about a week after opening so I put it down to teething troubles too. Service was good from the owner. Nice atmosphere though and a good drinks selection so I'll probably be back but won't be in a mad rush.

Re: Dogs in Beech Road Park

Why wouldn't dog owners be compared to parents? Some are responsible, considerate and caring; others aren't. You do have an initial outlay for a dog though - which may put off some of the more irresponsible owners - unlike having a child which requires no upfront payment.

Re: Dogs in Beech Road Park

Last summer there was a fire set to something in the rec \ park that melted and then solidified into quite a large black hard plastic mess. It was the Irish guy with the three legged dog that chipped away at it and scarified the grass afterwards to clean it up for everyone else. I take my lead from ...

Re: Bar San Juan

I really didn't know this was tapas bar etiquette - I've never noticed this being done when I've been to Spain but as I say I just may not have noticed. Behaviour won't change unless people know this is the practice - perhaps you could give the bar owner the feedback that he should be educating his ...

Re: "Chorlton has the highest burglary rate in the country"

I saw three young men creeping through my next door neighbours garden - they saw me watching and ran off. I called the police and they came round within about 10 minutes. They looked around, checked out the alley and thanked me for reporting suspicious behaviour as it helps them prioritise resource....

Re: Buying a house, looking for a solicitor for conveyancing

JMW did mine too. Not the cheapest around but you get what you pay for when it comes to conveyancing I guess. They kept me informed, always returned calls, advised well, and most importantly for me, really took control of the chain with other solicitors to ensure we exchanged and completed when we a...

Re: Closing down... opening up

Azad Manzil has downsized and handed the part they expanded into over to another business. I went past last night and they were fairly busy, Coriander was heaving and I felt a little sorry for Tandoori Flame with no customers again.

Re: Just who are the litter chavs on Beech Road Park????

People who litter annoy me in general, doesn't really matter who they are or which age group they belong to. I don't actually know who clears it up each day either. It can't be the council with that regularity. Has anyone seen? If I'm in the park I don't go out of my way to clear it up, but at the s...
