Re: Closing down... opening up

There's no indication of any exterior landscaping or any cladding works, so I'd assume these will be reasonably low quality. The application is by "New Park Commercial" who appear to be a lettings agency. It seems as though the ground floor will remain empty, so no improvement from street ...

The vacant offices between Unicorn and the petrol station have a planning application for conversion of the upper 2 floors into 16 flats.

Think this was refused.

Is a bar opening next to Gray's Larder? seems to have been work going on there for ages now.

Re: The gentrification of Beech Road

Beech Road was at its best about 5 years ago. Strangely a lot of people who now frequent it call it Beach Road.

Re: Best route to Charlotte Street

When I've had to drive in I've found your route to be best - sometimes you can get lucky continuing up chester rd and turning right immediately after the Hilton, then heading past pevril o' the peak etc and Portland street, though that's been pretty terrible recently. I can make it by bike in 15-20 ...

Re: Closing down... opening up

Any idea what the former crema unit is becoming? It has permission granted for a cafe/bar but no idea of format?

Re: Canal tow paths

Had a look today, it's surfaced as far as Europa way, closed beyond that with mini diggers at work. The section from the bridge beyond Stretford marina is pants for bikes, it's loose gravel which doesn't give much confidence, especially when you have to pass people! The surface towards trafford park...

Re: Closing down... opening up

Gray's Larder is next door to De Nada on the previous 1847 site to the right of Font Bar.

I'm assuming pizza place refers to crema as 00 is already open?

Canal tow paths

Does anyone know the current state of the canal towpaths? They were resurfaced a few years ago from Timperley to Stretford, but not into town, have they progressed any further?

Re: Closing down... opening up

Looks like the Village sandwich maker has already been sold on? Apparently will be refurbed and become the Phoenix Deli?

Gray's Larder seems a bit behind schedule?

Any word on café Crema? or the former threshers?
