I think that sums it up nicely.

Re: Missing moggy....

I saw a cat that looked a bit like that last night on Hackness Road. There are quite a few in that area but I go there regularly and didn't recognise this one. It seemed maybe a bit older though, the photo looks like a youngster?

Re: Tandoori Flame

Went to that new place at the weekend (is it Shere Akbar?). I thought it was excellent. Probably the best curry I've ever had in Chorlton. Haven't tried TF yet though mind.

Re: Closing down... opening up

It does seem sad at first sight, but you know, things move on.

I can change a lightbulb, a plug, tile the bathroom, wire a shower, give my car an oil change. Just like my dad could. But I won't darn a pair of socks like he would. I'd throw them away and buy a new pair.

Re: I've never met any of you

To the best of my knowledge I've never met anyone on here either. Maybe we should have a secret Chorltonweb handshake so that when we meet new people we can ascertain if they are one of the few. Or, this being Chorlton, some other sign. A secret air kiss perhaps? A password to drop in the conversati...

Re: Mezalluna changed hands

Had a look at that on rightmove. Always wondered what "viewing essential" really means. Would anyone seriously spend £650,000 on something like this without viewing it? I see also that the police station is up for auction on 1st December. Guide price £50,000. Looks like a bargain to me. Wo...

Re: I want to kill all "sidewalk cyclists"

What, cross the road as a pedestrian while the lights are against you? That's safer? "Like a pedestrian" would usually entail using a proper crossing, one would imagine. If one put one's brain to it. As if these are at every set of lights. You messed up here Annie and clearly said somethi...

Re: I want to kill all "sidewalk cyclists"

If the sensors didn't pick you up (and some are infrared, not induction loop), you should get off your bike and cross the road like a pedestrian, remounting when you reach the other side, otherwise you're another roadkill waiting to happen. What, cross the road as a pedestrian while the lights are ...

Re: I want to kill all "sidewalk cyclists"

Where does everyone stand on the use of towpaths by cyclists? Who has priority etc? I'm thinking specifically on the bridgewater way area... or in town. I cycle and walk a fair amount down the bridgewater canal. It's a shared path. I find that generally everyone seems to get along fine, respecting ...

She's having a state funeral when she does finally croak it. Let's hope we get a day off work out of it too.

Re: Chorlton Police Station Closing

I had a phone call from the police one night. The policeman said he had just walked past my house and the light was on and the curtains were open and that I should get some nets for my own security. I hate nets but I got a voile panel from John Lewis which did the same job. There's a lot of this ar...

There was a bit of filming for White Van Man 2 (whatever that is) down Hackness Road last Friday night.
