Re: Closure of Advice Services in Manchester

The Council are attempting to save money and are hoping that the social landlords will provide the gap that the Closure of the three bureaux will leave. Which in theory should be an alternative to those that need advice, but social landlords don't have the expertise, time, space or funding to provid...

Hi there is a rainbows group in Didsbury.

There is Brownies at St Clements church in Chorlton they are on a Wednesday ( or they certainly used to be when my sister ran them but don't quote me on that).

Try this webpage this might help http://www.girlguidingmanchester.org.uk/

Re: Chorlton Library now a Listed Building

Yay :-) and it's grade II which means it has regional importance which means it will be even harder to do stuff to it. I've been going there for years and it hasn't changed that much, apart from the moving of the reception desk to the middle rather than the front as you went in.

Re: Thug in Dulcimers last night

Annie how old was he? (roughly) going by the description, unfortunately I think I know who he is :-( - it sounds very much like someone who was a couple of years below me at school who normally drinks in the royal oak and can very much be described as a scroat.

Re: So, how buggered am I?

You could try asking your old landlord for a letter stating very clearly when you vacated the property. You should defiently write a letter enclosing the sent e-mail. The council are notorious for being numpties with the council tax. I've had to sort out their mess both times we have moved to a new ...

Re: Amazon Locker

Yeah, we mustn't lose the nostalgia of getting a little red card through the letterbox (even if you were in.... because they don't know how to knock at a door)... and then, 24 hours later, standing in a queue of 50 people for half an hour waiting to be served at a single hatch.... Which is exactly ...

I think authentic hippy 60's man may have been the english teacher at my school..... we used to call him Trevor (as in Trevor and Simon swing your pants......). He retired and and I heard he self financed the publishing of a book of his poems, I heard he also tried to run a flower shop.

Re: Phone calls from "windows"

I've had this a few times, I always tell them I'm the babysitter (I sound quite young) and the owners of the house aren't in :-) I think it stems from a someone who phoned up for 'market research' purposes a few months ago and I wondered how far I could go with it as they said I was registered with ...

Does anyone know whats going on here? Went past here last night, skip outside full of rubbish and green roller shutters on the front..... It'll be good to see something in there as it's been boarded up for years.
