Re: Chorlton Meadows Football Pitch Plan

Join forces with Friends of Levenshulme - a cracking bunch of campaigners who got together to fend off a similar plan for football pitches on Green Bank Fields. The deal was signed, sealed and delivered - 12' fence around football pitches (not available for public use) and a bar.... but FoL got toge...

Re: Odd Bar

So folk on here have drunk in Odder Bar but don;t know how much a pint is?

Surely you're not all falling into that old and tired Levenhulme saying, "All them Chorlton lot are so posh they don't even care how much they spend in pubs"

Come on... spill 'em!

All I can say is that my dad grows organic veg - tastes much better than that rubbish from supermarkets.

Re: “Manchester can't sustain a quality restaurant"

I love Yaki Soba - not amazing food but very nice & good value. I still like Azad Manzil for it's authentic old fashioned charm - they improved when Asian Fusion opened next door. Palmiro was excellent but went downhill. Outside Chorlton... I love Isinglass (Stretford) - great for hearty wholeso...

Ahhhh it used to be my local when I had my first of 2 stints in Chorlton. The place was not great but I drank with some great friends there.
Memories.

Re: Chorlton leisure centre

it gets busy at peak times (6-8pm) but if you get there at the right time it's fine. Not many places have pools. Other advantage is accesst to Moss Side & Withington gyms (used to be that way anyway).

I'd go running and cycling then join in late Feb when most January joiners have given up!

Re: Skill Swap / Stuff Swap

I'm a mathematics teacher (11-16 - SAT & GCSE) so can tutor mathematics and sign passport photos.

Not sure what I want. It would be cheeky to ask for some plumbing work in exchange for teaching or signing passport photos but please PM me if you need any of the above doing.

These people can't be trusted - they are being too vague, too hard sell and too imbalanced.

Re: Chorlton and the Congestion Charge

Sorry - I know you want a Chorlton only perspective but can I mention the marketing - an "ethical" marketing company (!?) has been paid using tax payers money to pay for all the glossy brochures, massive adverts, staff handing leaflets out in Piccadilly Gardens... what tax payers money is ...
