House painter

Now the sun's come out I can see how much the outside of my house needs painting. Can anyone recommend a good painter?

Re: Folding Bikes

One morning on my way to work a few weeks ago I saw someone going up Barlow Moor Road on a unicyle who looked liked they were dressed for going to work in an office so maybe that is an option. I could have been dreaming but fairly sure it was real.

No I didn't - I went to Azurro which was lovely - would reccommend the seafood linguine.
Walked past Thai e sarn about 8.30 and it was empty so quite glad we hadn't booked there (also put off by them wanting £5 pp deposit to eat there on a Sat night.)

Not necessarily a regional accent though. I'm another Midlander - lost any Midlands-ness in my accent (until I go back to visit) so don't think anyone could pinpoint where I was from with my accent.

Thanks for the opinions - think it sounds fun if we were going for a drinking night but I can't really do that at the moment so think I'm just going to go for a normal restaurant and will try thai e sarn another time. I've also heard very good things about Chaopraya but not made it there yet. And Ji...

Thai e sarn

Thinking of going here on Saturday with some friends who are coming up to visit - would anyone reccommend it? Had a quick look at reviews and seems very mixed - some say its great others say it's dreadful. I always thought it sounded fun but don't actually know anyone who's been there.

Ta!

You are very helpful - thank you very much!

Thought it was weird I hadn't seen anything else - looks like I was right not to trust the reporter's reporting.

Beer festival?

Does anyone know if the beer festival at St Clements is on this weekend? I've just noticed a little bit in the reporter but haven't seen anything else about it....

I've only been to Rhubarb once but enjoyed it.

If anyone wants to eat a lot of meat try Pau Brasil in town - as much as you can eat - was really good and a bit different. http://www.paubrasil-restaurant.co.uk/

Jackson's for a drink is fine but the food is really bad. Had a roast dinner and the gravy tasted as though it had some sort of cleaning fluid in it, someone else had a sandwich with stale bread.
They did used to do a good curry and quiz night though - does that still happen?

Does anyone know if anything's planned for the old fire station near Picadilly? I love that building and can't believe it's empty.

I agree that building by the canal street looks awful - reminds me of that episode of the apprentice where they had to design buildings.

Just come back from a pub where smoking ban already happening - every 20 mins half the group got up and went outside which was a little strange although very nice to get home and not smell of smoke

Also do you think smoking ban will stop people smoking on buses?

I only noticed our road was meant to be one when I came back from the pub one evening and 3 of the kids playing out tried to give me sweets and then started asking me if I was a Homewatcher. Don't think anyone does anything about it but we have got some signs at the end of the road.

Has anyone ever been to this? Is it worth me venturing all the way to Fallowfield if it doesn't rain?
