Re: Nectar Bistro

That is good news.

I am not big fan of the frontage, its looks nice and sleek but not really welcoming.

As a result I haven't been tempted to venture in yet, but after reading this I will give it a whirl and report back.

Thank you.

Re: What? No royal wedding thread?

What on earth does 'why done your do one' Actually mean? Was he aiming at a haiku or has he just failed the literacy test? His mother should really stop him eating all the red sweets and getting high on E numbers. All it takes is one pack of Smarties and he is in here forcing out a steaming turd fo...

Did a moose take a crap in here again? What on earth does 'why done your do one' Actually mean? Was he aiming at a haiku or has he just failed the literacy test? Re: What? No royal wedding thread?

I think the monarchy is a wee bit ridiculous these days. However, I liked the idea of 'president' Tony Blair having to go to the queen and explain his decisions. Maybe kept him in check a little. And you can't deny the tourism boost they give us (although knowing chorltonweb I'm sure someone will b...

Re: What? No royal wedding thread?

I am pretty anti-Monarchy. If you stand back and think about it the whole system its almost comic. Imagine if you tried to start a Monarchy in modern day Britain and said to people - I'm the head of this country, this title will only pass down through my family and you will pay for everything. I thi...

Re: The Royal Oak

Is this an opportunity for Chorlton to "take back" the Royal Oak. Its a cracking building in a very central location, it would take loads of money to refit and restyle the pub into something more modern and Chorltonish. I doubt it could ever really lose the stigma it has built up over the ...

Re: BNP leaflet

I would love, literally love it, if one of these scumbags comes near my door.

I would give them such an unmerciful beating of his life that he (and its invariably a he) would never call at another door again. Thats how freedom of speech and thought works around my house!

Re: Fire on Beech road

It is MASSIVELY easier to get planning permission on an empty plot of land than to apply to demolish and replace existing property. (Oh, and I don't "cash in" on property, bhoy... I have some ethics, oddly enough... and not enough money) is the lack of "cashing in" due to the la...

"there are rumours of another Tesco Express opening ‘in the Southern Cemetery area" http://www.manchesterconfidential.com/index.asp?sessionx=IpqiNwB6JDbnJaqiNwF6IHqi I think that would be a really good spot for one. With the exception of the shops bit on Merseybank, which no o...

Re: ID cards in Manchester...

I don't mind having one in the slightest. I do mind having to pay for one, particularly when we're clearly getting David Spin Cameron in next year and he'll scrap it making it a total waste of money. I doubt they'll prevent much terrorism though. I'd just find it easier than having to remember to p...

Re: Your Chorlton Top 3's

I'm a Coriander man all the way but if there are others involved who don't do walking or cycling, then Asian Fusion is the venue of choice. I've tried Azad twice but found it to be stuck back in the 70s in terms of the food both times....as in a breast of chicken with a thin sauce...Have things imp...

Re: Your Chorlton Top 3's

Cant understand why Asain Fusion is getting so many "props". I was in there last week again after not being in their in a while and I still wasnt very impressed. Whilst being extremely chintzy, Azid Manzil next door is on the whole a better spot. I usually make the extra effort and go ti C...
