Odd Bar

the place on the chorlton bulletin board for vegetable-spread related chatter and other matters...it's the first, the best and it's currently hack free.

Odd Bar

Polar is turning into an Odd(er/ist) Bar, judging by the planning permission sticker on the window at the old premises.

indeed. It will be called Oddest. The very wonderful lady whose brainchild these wonderful bars are is a friend of mine. It's so great to see them in reality after the hours of running over the plans with her.

Interesting.... Odd Bar wanted to take Polar over... but then changed their mind... so the Polar closes... then it gets taken over by Odd Bar?

Hmmm... shenanigans!

I'm not prepared to go into it on a public message board but there was asbolutely nothing untoward about it.

It's quite common. It means that you just have to negotiate with the landlord for a new lease rather than paying a premium to buy the business. Same happened at Woolworths for example.

Hmmm...

Oh well... I heartily welcome an Odd Bar... and the re-opening of the only place that is NICE to sit outside on a summer's evening... (right side of the road, plenty space)

Does anyone know when oddest is going to open? I've been past and seen they've got the sign up so it can't be far off

16th July, I believe....although that might be just the private opening party.

Good grief. We get the message. You know the owner. FFS.

It hilarious that you think someone might get some kind of glory from a moniker on a website. It's nothing short of ridiculous to think that knowing someone who set up some bars is something to be proud of.

I see why you thought my reference to the private party might be a pathetic attempt at some sort of glory hunting but you simply have me all wrong.

Yesterday, I was booking an evening meeting out of town on the 16th and my colleague said, "I think oddest opens that night". That's where my knowledge of the date comes from and my qualifying statement.

I know the owner ner ner ner ner nerrr.
