Apparently this is to be voted on today in what is to me a deceptively simple attempt by some Lib Dems to attempt to 're-engage with voters':

The May 2010 voting was surely heavily influence by months of confirmation that so many of our MPs/Lords/Ladies from all parties had had their fingers in our public purse http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstop ... -expenses/ So few were contrite too.
This widespread corruption must have been an influence upon any falling interest in turning out to vote. Duplicity in local and national politics goes with how they choose to conduct themselves and weakens my interest in them but surely corruption is/was the big reason for loss of interest in voting?
the place on the chorlton bulletin board for vegetable-spread related chatter and other matters...it's the first, the best and it's currently hack free.
