Decent NHS dentist in Chorlton...

Postby Shaggy » Sun Feb 20, 2011 10:25 am

...and the surrounding area.

Apologies if this has been asked before, but I need to find a good dentist. I've always had a phobia of going and the last time I went was a one-off visit to the one near the Whalley Pub (Brook Bar?) before I got married in 2003. Anyway, I have a little toddler just turned two who needs to start going to the dentist and I'd be grateful if you could make your recommendations here.

Thanks in advance.

Sandy Lane Dental Practice (7 Sandy Lane) still do NHS. No idea if they're taking new patients at the moment.

(I do not work for Sandy Lane Dental Practice)

Rob Pridding at Wood & Woolfstein opposite the precinct on Manchester Road is very good. They do NHS work there and although they have no vacancies for adults at present they may have a waiting list and / or may take children as new patients. 0161 881 2110

You can always take children to the community dentist in the Health Centre. It's free and they do good work. My kids went there

Wood and Wolfstein are definitely not taking on new patients and don't have a waiting list- checked with them a couple of weeks ago. Paul is registered there but I am stuck at the Rusholme Dental Practice which despite it's name is actually on one of the shootiest streets in Moss Side.

There's a dentist on Ayres Road called Ayres Road Dental Practice that had a sign outside a couple of weeks ago saying they were taking on NHS patients. Don't know anything else about it though.
