Closing down... opening up

the place on the chorlton bulletin board for vegetable-spread related chatter and other matters...it's the first, the best and it's currently hack free.

I think they just took that unit for a couple of months around Christmas and were mostly selling stock left over from their previous shop. That corner one seems to be very available for short term lets, maybe it's really cheap too?

I don't even remember seeing it, where was it ?

I went to the new wood fired pizza place the other night, the pizzas are superb and the kids loved it. Slightly 'quirky' decor but having the oven makes up for it. Avoid the crostini.

The empty unit opposite the library next to Halo hairdressers is to become a Lib Dem election campaign hub, according to the guys painting it bright orange today.

Not sure when it happened but the Simon Dunn Chocolatier place has turned into Cocoa Tree (still a chocolatier).

You may be proved right Oz, but I hope it survives - otherwise Chorlton will be breaking records for 'Charity' shop openings (large one has appeared in the precinct). No rates payable, but Charity Chief Execs can rake in up to £300k in salary packages.

'Bosu Body Bar' is opening in the unit a couple of doors down from Hickson & Blacks, which used to be some sort of independent bank. They seem to be kitting it out quite nicely, and are going to sell healthy meals.

On a more general note, the precinct is starting to actually look presentable. Lots of flowers have sprung up on the Manchester Road side, almost all the units are now full, others have had makeovers. A lick of paint on the internal woodwork and some sort of feature or better seating area in the huge space infront of Quality Save and it'll no longer be depressing to visit.

516 Wilbrahim Road (next to Junipers) is to become a restaurant called Palate Chorlton.

Progress can be followed here: https://twitter.com/palatechorlton

The name on the licence application was "Charcuterie Ltd" so expect something along those kind of lines.

It's from the people behind Parlour so will be supplied by Frosts.

Looks as though Loop on the corner of Beech Road and Stockton Road has gone.

As far as I am aware the Simon Dunn company (may have been a franchise) went bust quite a while ago - some of the operators of the stores took on the leases to carry on trading. As part of that deal they may have had to keep the name for a certain amount of time.

Therefore providing it is the same owners - not sure if that is the case or not - the service should carry on as normal.

It is the same owners/ staff, they clarified that on Twitter t'other week.
Nothing but a change of name.
