Hi again, I apologise if my previous post offended anyone. Try and judge for yourself. Regards.

Welcome to the forum. Would you happen to know of a fish and chip shop in Chorlton that you would like to give an entirely positive report of for your second post?

Hi there, I would recommend both the new royal cod and Atlantic. Both of these establishments deliver on quality, service and value for money.

I'm always extremely suspicious when first time posters on forums have strong opinions either way about local businesses.

I agree it's odd to write such a nasty and long-winded post about something so irrelevant as a chippy/kebab shop.

I'd be more worried about a kid that thinks mushy peas are play dough (sorry, play dou).

Own goal Hannah, unless it's a really cunning double bluff. If the latter, then 'chapeau!' to your cunningly crafted faux-merde grammar, spelling and punctuation.

I went in on Friday night had fish, chips and mushy peas. Here is how I would rate it.

Fish - 6/10 - freshly fried to order, not great batter but certainly not bad.

Chips - 5/10 - Passable but portion size was fairly small

Mushy Peas - 0/10 seriously inedible - not dry like the above persons post, just horrible.

The kebabs looked quite good, but as a chippy this is the worst in Chorlton at the moment.

Can't speak about Adams, but I can't agree with the positive comment above on Atlantic chippy I'm afraid. I went just the once - athough the fish was massive there was just no taste to it whatsoever, really bland. I'm pretty sure this is an experience echoed by resident foodie Bacon - certainly some food writer shared my views. The Chorlton Baths chippy is better, but I would highly recommend my local, the Hong Kong chippy on Henrietta Street. Never had a duff meal from there.

Atlantic and Royal Cod are both crap. I like the baths supper bar and beech road chippy. I wouldn't try fish and chips from Adam's Chippy as its clearly a kebab shop, depsite what the name suggests.

@ffa: agree with you on royal cod but disagree on atlantic (unless it's gone downhill very recently). i always found the chips there to be excellent. the wait to be served, on the other hand...

Always hated Atlantic Chippy. Massive, tasteless fish, and big, rock hard, under-cooked white chips. Every time I've been (three times).

So far I've really liked the Royal Cod. Chips are spot on and the fish actually tastes of something.

Also like the Beech Road chippy but, though the owner seems a nice bloke, its xenophobic vibes put me off a bit.
