Wilbraham School of Music in the 40's?

Postby Douglas Cook » Tue Mar 23, 2004 10:06 am

I lived at 477 (or was it 447?!) Barlow Moor Road in the forties, it was a largish detached house on the corner of a road between the tram terminus and the cinema, i. I would be interested to hear from anyone who knows what happened to the Wilbraham School of Music, or its pupils, later The James Ching Pianoforte School or Mautterer Pianoforte School, 76 High Lane, Chorlton-cum-Hardy, run by Edythe and Ronald Mortimer.

With thanks

I was taugh to play the trumpet at probably the same house in the early fifties by a father and son who played with the Halle - I think. Downstairs was an antique shop. Is there any connection?
