Through our short film drama "Cry England!" we have started fundraising on a small scale for the Christie Hospital as part of the BBC Radio Manchester appeal. This started with our premiere at the BlueBox Theatre (Chorlton High School) in front of an invited audience on 14th November.
We were visited by Andy Crane (also raising money for the BBC appeal in memory of his mother) last Friday on his 25k walk from the Salford Royal to the Christie and back again - see our short film on this visit - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjg7RS-6iSI .
The next showing is at the Chorlton Film Institute at St Clement's Church on 19th December (doors open from 8.10pm). "Cry England!" will be shown as the "B" movie before the main feature "Much Ado about Nothing". At the CFI, we hope to be raising money through a raffle of an iconic painting by Peter Topping of the Chorlton Green Churchyard lychgate, generously donated by Peter, and other prizes. The draw for the raffle won't be before late February or early March.
the place on the chorlton bulletin board for vegetable-spread related chatter and other matters...it's the first, the best and it's currently hack free.
