I go out for 5 minutes and the Co-op gets robbed

Postby t0ria » Wed Apr 09, 2014 1:56 pm

I just came back home past the Co-op and there has been a cash in transit robbery. It's surrounded in police tape and an ambulance has just arrived.

I actually went out of the house for the first time in 3 days just now (working from home...) and this happens- if I had been in I would have been able to see it all from my window and probably been a witness.

Hope everyone is ok, both of the nice ladies and one of the young lads were working today I think

There seems a lot of worrying things going on at the moment... This week there has been an armed robbery at a bookies, balaclava clad people tampering with Font's electrics, someone fractured a woman's skull in a massage parlour, robbery of a cash van...

I had heard of the other cases but not this one. Which massage parlour was this? What happened?

The robbers "struck as a cash-in-transit van was delivering money to the store."

Eh?

I thought the way it worked was that shops sold things and generated cash, to be collected (not delivered). Is this a reflection on the Co-op' woeful trading position, or have the robbers just knocked off the small change for the tills?

Hope the staff are OK. A nasty experience for them.

There's a cash point just inside the doors.

Sometimes you're better off not witnessing things. My cousin got given a Burnley Wallet after seeing the Gorse Hill Massif up to no good a few years ago.

Ah, good point. That would explain things.

I suppose if my life had sunk so low that I had to shop in the Co-op, I would have known that.

I've noticed that even snobs need cash.
