There's a dispute over the names of the three Chorlton cinemas in the '50s. I thought the answer was: Gaumont, Rivoli and Palace. However it has been suggested that the correct answer is Gaumont, Essoldo and Palais.
Can any Choldies settle this please? :?:

I know for a fact the cinema on Manchester Road where the funeral places is now used to be the Gaumont. This is where the Bee Gee's did their first live performance in the 1950's.

Ooh, this is difficult. I can't find the information on the Web if it's not in search engines. I guess in this situation one would physically have to take a trip to a tangible library!

Yeah, I thought it was Morrissey too!

Mind you, he lived on Kings Road in Stretford. Is there a Kings Road in Chorlton too??

Thanks for that comment, however this is a quiz about Chorlton. This Kings Rd runs between St Werburghs Rd and Withington Rd.
