That is correct the CAB do provide FREE advice and so de we. The difference between us and the CAB is that you do not need to wait 3 months for an appointment, which is the current waiting time with most Citizen Advice Bureaus.

Thats not actually true,it depends whereabouts in the city you live as to how long you have to wait for an appointment at the moment average waiting time is a few weeks (not months!) for unsecured debt, and people will always be seen in an emergency.

Sorry I stand corrected I have just spoken to a lovely lady AT the Sale Branch of the Citizens Advice Bureaux (This is the closest one to Chorlton open today). I explained a situation of being in debt and falling into arrears, I explained I was very stressed and Had not slept.. She said she can only fit me in 3 weeks…

So I stand corrected earliest appointment I could get was in 3 weeks time NOT 3 MONTHS.. Please feel free to check out the opening times on the CAB website, It’s interesting reading.

And Yes the CAB is a great service, I have spoke to them an many occasions and I would not say anything bad about them…

The closest CAB open to Chorlton open on a Thursday is Hulme.

http://www.manchestercab.org.uk/ has all the opening times.

They probably wouldn't be able to give you a debt appointment at Sale as you don't pay Council Tax to Trafford They are very strict on that! Just as Manchester CAB can't see anyone outside Manchester City Council boundaries.

You can also go to Manchester Advice, which is the Councils advice service you can phone them on 0161 234 5678 or you could go to National Debt line, which can give exactly the same advice over the phone.

BTW do you realise you can't actually open the madison finance link you've put up!

It's good you're offering free debt advice, I'm just wary about all these companies which say they are free, or offer what seems like an easy way to get out of debt, a lot of these people are vulnerable, and then end up at the CAB!

Hi Again,

I must of overlooked the Hulme Centre listed on the CAB website, But the Sale office didn’t mention about council tax or who I paid my council tax to.

That’s correct the “National Debt Helpline” do also provide free service, so do “The CCCS” and “Payplan”… All these companies including the CAB will try and put a monthly payment plan in place..

We however can look at other options that are FREE depending on debt levels etc, we specialise in IVA and we do not change upfront IVA fees, like most companies.

Don’t always rely on the CAB the CAB told one a person that I have helped to go Bankrupt, yet this guy was a home owner with £45k of equity in his property and only a £26k debt, so bankruptcy is not the best option as this chap had a Disposable Income of £350 per month and he would of lost his house…. This chap is now on an IVA…. (You do not have to believe this, but it happened)… Everyone makes mistakes.

I tell alot of people I speak to, to check the CAB as well as our company.

And you are very correct there are loads of companies out there just trying to rip people off, believe me we are not one of them… Anyone can just phone for FREE advice, nothing else.
