Summary of Dog Control Orders that Apply to Chorlton Park

As of 4th April 2007 the following provisions of section 55 of the Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005 apply to Chorlton Park

1. Fouling of Land by Dogs Order

This Order makes it an offence for a person in charge of a dog not to remove faeces deposited by the dog at any time. This Order applies to all areas of land in the City of Manchester.

2. Dogs on Leads by Direction Order

This Order makes it an offence for a person in charge of a dog to fail to put the dog on a lead when directed to do so by an authorised officer of the Council. This Order applies to all areas of land in the City of Manchester.

3. Dogs Exclusion Order

This Order makes it an offence for a person in charge of a dog to take the dog onto, or to permit it to enter or to remain on, specified areas of land. In Chorlton Park this order applies to the following areas:

Children’s Play Area
Tennis Courts
Bowling Green
Skateboard Park
Football pitches

4. Dogs (Specified Maximum) Order

This Order makes it an offence for a person to be in charge of more than 4 dogs at any time. This Order applies to all land open to the air and to which the public are entitled or permitted to have access (with or without payment) in the City of Manchester
